Kitchen Floor Replacement
This usually starts with a substrate check. Older Atlanta homes often have a layer of vinyl or VCT tile under what you're looking at, and we need to know whether to float over it or pull it. Once the floor is prepped, we typically use a large-format porcelain (18x18 or 24x24) for kitchens because it means fewer grout lines and easier cleaning over time.
We protect cabinets and appliances during the install and can usually complete a standard kitchen floor in two days depending on square footage.

A full bathroom remodel means we're involved from demo through final grout seal. The most important phase is waterproofing the shower pan and walls before any tile goes up. We use a sheet membrane or liquid-applied system depending on the substrate, and we pressure-test before tiling over it.
Floor, walls, niche, and threshold are all coordinated so the grout lines align across surfaces. That's the difference between a bathroom that looks designed and one that looks assembled.

A retile without a full remodel is common and completely doable. We demo the existing tile, inspect the backer board underneath, and replace any sections that have absorbed moisture. Skipping that step is why retiled showers sometimes fail within a few years.
If the existing pan is solid and the drain is in good shape, we can often retile a standard shower in two to three days including cure time before water contact.

Bathroom Tile That Earns Its Keep
Large-format porcelain in a wet area requires more than just good adhesive. The substrate needs to be flat to within 1/8 inch over 10 feet, and the waterproofing layer has to be continuous, including up the curb and behind the niche.
This Vinings bathroom used a warm beige 24x48 porcelain with a matching pencil liner at the niche perimeter. The grout color was blended to minimize visual joints without disappearing entirely.

Handmade zellige tiles are uneven by design, which means standard spacing clips don't work and every course needs to be hand-set and eyeballed. The vertical stack orientation on this Smyrna kitchen made the ceiling feel taller and the window more prominent.
Grout selection on a white zellige wall matters more than most people realize. We mock up two or three options in a small section before committing to the full install.
